 Hampton County School District 2 will offer a variety of workshops for parents, guardians and caregivers who would like to become more involved in their children's education. 

 

  • The mission of the Parent University is to improve parents' skills and knowledge so that they will become more proficient and efficient in providing for their children, including assisting in their education.

 

  • The goal of the Parent University is to increase parental involvement in the schools and to help empower parents to help their children to reach their full potentials.  We will be offering   workshops on Saturdays and Wednesdays this school year.  All of our workshops are free and we will provide lunch and childcare.

If you are interested in attending parenting workshops on Saturday or Wednesday mornings at least once each quarter listed below are some of the workshops topics.

·         Understanding Your Teenager:  A Survival Guide

·         Introduction to Computer Technology 101

·         Stress:  Dealing with Life's Challenges

·         Raising a Reader

·         Preventing Bullying Among Girls

·         Helping Your Child Prepare for High Stakes Testing and Assessments

·         Parenting Your Preschooler:  Strategies That Work

·         Families in Transition:  Divorced, Widowed, Single Family Life

·         Advancing Literacy in the Home: Family Literacy

·         A Parent's Guide to Social Networking: Facebook
